2004, Matt Kenseth's rookie year of IROC Series racing could not have gone any better. After earning his invite to the series by clinching the 2003 NASCAR Cup Series championship, Kenseth started the 2004 IROC season by finishing third in the Daytona opener. He collected wins in the season's final two IROC events at Richmond and Atlanta on his way to the 2004 IROC championship. This is a diecast of the car Matt Kenseth drove in 2006, his third consecutive year in the invitational race series.

IROC, The International Race of Champions, began in 1973 and has since become a favorite series among race fans. It places 12 of the world's top drivers, from different types of racing, in identically prepared Firebird IROC Xtreme cars with four races to battle it out for the victory. They are given a set of rules which virtually eliminates the variables usually associated with racing, where skill, not mechanics, determines the winner.
